Updates to the original 1999 version of
Australian Consultant's Guide
Life goes on, and print media just can't keep up to the cyber world. These things have changed since The Australian Consultant's Guide 1999 version was originally printed. |
| Book Summaries |
In Appendix 2 of the 2000 edition, I direct you to Vision Book Summaries. They seem to have gone out of business. A couple of other summary services are available, so check out Soundview or Summaries.com (8 page exec summaries delivered each week by internet).
There is also an Australian provider - Mino.com.au (bite sized reading for big fish - what a cool catchy line!) |
| GST based changes |
You can download amendments to chapter five and to the appendix, which deal with post-GST changes, if you would like to put them with your copy of the book.
Some of the topics covered in the amendments include:
- Letting the officials know you're in business (post GST)
- The essentials: an invoice
- Sample invoice template
These amendments are in a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. To view and print the PDF file, you will need the freeware Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 4.0. Download it for free here.

| Other ways to send and receive faxes |
I discovered an internet-based fax system called jConnect (formerly jfax). It means you don't have to have a fax machine of your own, but you can have your own fax number.

| Changes to contact details |
Those of you who bought the 1st print of the Guide will need to update the following address. The reprint (published in June 2000) of The Australian Consultant's Guide includes these changes already. So does the most recent 2005 version which you can buy on this site in ebook or paperback form.
Women and Management Inc (page 232) no longer exists. Try instead the Australian Businesswomen's Network |
